DAYTON — The Army’s AH-64D Apache Longbow attack helicopter and the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber have been added to the lineup of the Vectren Dayton Air Show.

The Apache helicopter is scheduled for demonstration performances both days of the air show July 18-19 at Dayton International Airport. The United States has used the copter in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. The one coming in for the air show is from the Army’s 8th Battalion 229th Aviation Regiment at Fort Knox, Ky.

The B-2 bomber, dubbed the “flying wing” because of its appearance, will fly over the air show site on the opening day, Saturday, July 18. The bomber is based with the 509th Bomb Squadron at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.

The air show’s featured acts, previously announced, include the Air Force Thunderbirds precision flying team, Brazilian air force flying team, Army Golden Knights parachuting team and aerobatics pilots Patty Wagstaff and Sean D. Tucker.
