SPRINGFIELD — In 11 years with the Springfield Clark Career Technology Center, outgoing superintendent Randy Richardson has helped to stabilize the school’s financial picture, upgrade the facilities and upgrade student programs.
“I believe we are state-of-the-art for our students,” he said.
Richardson will leave the Springfield-Clark CTC Dec. 4; he has accepted a position as the assistant superintendent of the Penta Career Center in Perrysburg.
“It’s going back home,” said Richardson, who grew up about 45 minutes from Perrysburg. His mother still resides in nearby Findlay.
“It’s an opportunity that I have kind of been eying for the last few years,” he said. “If there was a job that I was really looking at, it was that job right there.”
The CTC Board of Education hopes to name an interim superintendent by Monday, Nov. 23, said board President J.J. Klarer.
The interim candidate would finish out the year while the board launches a search for a permanent candidate.
“We’re going to use a search company or a search entity... to find a permanent replacement,” said Klarer.
The board has not yet selected a firm for the search.
