URBANA — Sandi Arnold was named executive director of the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday.
She will replace Tina Knotts, who resigned to take a similar job in Union County. Knotts had served as executive director since 2008.
Arnold, a Graham High School graduate, has served in a variety of roles, including a department manager with the retail store Lazarus. She also served as a controller at the Mansfield News-Journal newspaper, playing a key role in developing a culture of customer service and tightening financial controls at the company.
Arnold has also been employed with the OSU Extension as a 4-H program assistant and has been an elementary substitute teacher and tutor with Ontario Schools.
In a press release, Than Johnson, the president of the chamber’s board of trustees, said Arnold will be a good fit for the position. “Ms. Arnold will bring energy and expertise to the Champaign County business community.”
“I look forward to bringing people and businesses together to open new doors for Champaign County while respecting the rich history of our area,” Arnold said in the release.
