PIQUA — Trupointe Cooperative, Inc. is in operation in 26 Ohio and three Indiana counties after the successful consolidation of two long-time area agriculture and energy cooperatives.
Forty-five Advanced Agri-Solutions and Southwest Landmark branch locations throughout western and central Ohio and eastern Indiana make up the company.
“With the combined employee base, we are able to provide more resources and expertise for our more than 4,300 members,” said John Waymire, a farmer and chairman of Trupointe’s Board of Directors. “It is not only a win for each of our companies, but for the customer as well.”
The cooperative will offer fertilizer, crop protection and seed treatments; propane and liquid fuel; lawn and garden, home and pet supply; commercial, club livestock and horse feeds; grain marketing and risk management; and landscaping.
“It has been a smooth transition,” said Larry Hammond, chief executive officer. “While the signs will change, our local values remain the same, and we will continue to do what we have always done — serving our customers’ agricultural and energy needs.”
Trupointe, headquartered in Piqua, is a farmer-owned cooperative of more than 4,300 members from 45 facilities. In a cooperative, members, producers, consumers and employees all have a close association with the business, sharing strengths and weaknesses to a create growth and ensure success.
