Brick laying not open to public

Today’s bricklaying ceremony at the new Springfield Regional Medical Center is not open to the public.

Because the ceremony is being held in a hard-hat area of an active construction site, Danis Building Co. officials said the company could not, for safety reasons, accommodate the public.

The News-Sun, in error, stated the public was invited to the event.

Perhaps they'll film it so it can be on the TV. Want to see that brick taking it's place in the wall. After the first dollar, Haunted, whom will they serve?

Well, David, I think the very short article states unambiguously why you are not permitted to watch. "Because the ceremony is being held in a hard-hat area of an active construction site..." Let's say for instance Danis Building Co. goes beyond their best judgment and permits an individual into the construction site to view the ceremony, and that individual gets hurt. Then you'll be arguing why that person deserves just compensation for their pain and suffering.

My tax dollar(s) made it possible for that brick to be placed. How is it I'm not permitted to watch?

Who is 'laying' the brick? Should've selected someone from the public since they are the ones this hospital is 'suppose' to serve. They serve themselves...from the first brick to the first dollar.
