URBANA — The SONIC
location in Urbana has closed due to financial reasons, according to information released from the company Thursday, June 4.

The business, located at 1754 E. U.S. 36, was being evaluated for several months, according to information from the company. The local owner of the business could not be reached for comment.

“Over the past few months, SONIC and the franchisee have evaluated the Urbana drive-in,” said a statement from the company. “After careful review, we regret to announce that the drive-in closed for financial reasons. The decision to close a drive-in is never easy. We feel privileged to have had the opportunity to bring our Carhop service and extensive menu variety to Urbana residents.”

The fast-food chain also has a store in Springfield at 3471 E. National Road.

Ashley, obviously your education had stopped before the 7th grade. Your grammer and spelling are horrifying and you're calling the customers stupid. Until you get further educated, don't post anything publicly and embarrass yourself any further!

I like sonic, but the prices are so high, I may as well go to a sit in restaurant. I'm not paying that much for fast food. I bought two shakes, cost me $9.00. That was the last time I went. It could be why others don't go.
High price = Lack of customers = No business

Food is disgusting anyway. Sorry I'm not a fan of McDonald's but their food tastes like gourmet compared to their School lunch program.

The service at the Urbana store was atrocious. And Ashley, if you don't like your customers, go work somewhere that doesn't have them. I hope you find a really good job somewhere OTHER than Urbana. You really aren't making a very good case for the customers being the problem.
