SPRINGFIELD — An 11-year old boy remains in critical condition at Children’s Hospital in Dayton after being struck by a car Friday night, Aug. 27.

Dominic R. Jennings, of Springfield, was hit by a car in the 1800 block of Selma Road around 6:30 p.m., Friday.

Jennings and his 12-year old brother were playing Friday evening when Jennings crossed Selma Road to retrieve a ball, said Sgt. Brian Radanovich of the Springfield Police Division.

Jennings was struck by a 1995 Pontiac driven by 22-year-old Christopher Baker of 2217 South Hadley Road, according to a police report.

Police are looking for a possible witness to the accident — another driver who slowed before turning left into a local business’ parking lot at the time of the accident, said Radanovich.

Baker submitted to testing to see if alcohol may have been a factor, said Radanovich. Results of the testing should be known in four to six weeks, he said. No charges have been filed.
