WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — Base officials are to break ground on Friday, Feb. 5, for a religious education center that is to be built in the Prairies housing area.
The $680,000 project is to renovate and add about 2,000 square feet of space to the Chapel Family Life Center. It will be used to serve the additional employees expected at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as the result of the nation’s 2005 base realignment and closure decision to relocate aerospace medicine, sensors research and other programs to Wright-Patterson from bases in other states.
The 88th Air Base Wing plans a 1:30 p.m. ceremony to break ground for the project. Diaz Enterprises Inc., of Portsmouth, is the project contractor.
