DAYTON — A Springfield business is among companies that will be honored next year with a prestigious national award from the parent organization of Better Business Bureaus.

Villa Springfield Health and Rehabilitation Center, a 110-bed health care facility, was chosen to receive a BBB International Torch Award for marketplace excellence. The Council of Better Business Bureaus gives the awards to recognize businesses and executives judged to have demonstrated integrity in the marketplace and dedication to fostering trust between businesses and consumers.

The award is to be presented at the 2010 BBB International Torch Awards ceremony on April 20, 2010, at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.

Verizon, the telecommunications company based in New York, also is to be honored.
