Three area companies — two in Dayton and another in Springfield — will receive more than $845,000 in economic development grants from the Ohio Department of Development, the department said late Monday, Feb. 8.

Together, these grants are expected to create 327 new jobs and retain 199 positions, the state said.

Quickstep Composites LLC will receive a $20,000 “rapid outreach grant” for the acquisition of machinery and equipment. Quickstep has commercialized a method for the rapid curing of advanced composites used in aircraft and high performance automobiles. This $900,000 project is expected to create 20 jobs, the state said. The company works with Vector Composites in the Dayton campus for Advanced Materials Technologies.

Assembly & Test Worldwide, Inc. (ATW), also in Dayton, will receive a $75,000 “rapid outreach grant” for the acquisition of machinery and equipment. ATW designs and manufactures assembly and test equipment for global manufacturers, supplying engineered equipment for fuel-efficient automobiles engines, fuel injectors, transmissions, and drive modules. The state expects this $750,000 project to create 82 positions and retain 199 jobs.

In Springfield, Code Blue LLC will receive a $750,000 “rapid outreach grant” for new machinery, equipment and hardware. Code Blue, headquartered in Wisconsin, offers third-party claims administration services in the commercial and residential property insurance markets. This $2.25 million project is expected to create 225 jobs, according to the state.
