COLUMBUS — Ohioans are eligible to receive services and reimbursement from Toyota related to the automaker’s recent recalls of cars for problems including unintended sudden acceleration, Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray said Monday, March 1.

Toyota should provide the services through local dealerships at no cost to the car owner, Cordray said.

Toyota has said that owners of the recalled vehicles could request expedited scheduling of repairs, pickup and return of the vehicle by a dealership representative, transportation from the dealership to the car owner’s place of work, and alternate means of transportation, such as a rental car or loaned vehicle.

The attorney general’s office will monitor compliance and follow up on complaints from consumers who have difficulty obtaining the promised Toyota services, Cordray said.

Toyota originally offered the services to customers in New York, at that state’s request. Last week, Toyota agreed to extend the offer to customers nationwide.

Toyota should have came forward with a full disclosure. Instead of waiting for a huge media blitz and tons of public pressure. I never seen so many car companies having recalls all at the same time. I had no idea my car was affected until I searched on http://www.carpedalrecall.com and found I had a bad Anti Lock control unit on my 2008 Pontiac G8 , So be careful
