Mechanicsburg High School gained an early lead and defeated Urbana 55-42 in girls basketball Saturday.
The Indians led 15-7 after the first quarter and never trailed.
Mechanicsburg’s Jamie Dodane scored 20 points. She was 8-of-16 from the field. Brooke Dodane scored 12. She made four 3-pointers. Hayley Cochran scored 10.
Trischa Lacy led Urbana with 27 points. She shot 8-of-15 from the field and was 5-0f-7 from the free-throw line.
Greeneview 31, Xenia 25: Greeneview opens its season with a win, while Xenia starts with a loss.
Ashton Lovely led Greeneview with 23. She had two 3-pointers. Sophie Sonneman scored 12 while Natasha Siebenaler had nine.
Madison Plains 51, Northeastern 31: Northeastern fell in its season opener.
Tracy Distl led Northewatern with 11. Alexis Dickerson scored eight.
Abby Finney led Madison Plains with 10.
