Area basketball highlights for Feb. 2

Boys Basketball

 

Springfield 64, Tippecanoe 43: Springfield shot 10-of-12 from the free throw line.

Ryan Minney led Springfield (11-8) with 17 points. Daeshawn Jackson and John Carson each scored 12. Sean Burroughs had three points, five blocks and nine rebounds.

Nick Fischer led Tipp (14-4) with 11. Sean Ford scored 10.

 

Miami East 38, Graham 33: Luke House led Miami East with 15 points, six rebounds and three assists. Grant Goddard had eight for Graham (10-8). Miami East had a 16-5 run to end the game.

 

 

Girls Basketball

 

Mechanicsburg 65, Triad 53: Jamie Dodane scored 24 to lead Mechanicsburg. She shot 13-of-14 from the foul line and 5-of-10 from the field.

Brooke Dodane scored 18 while Courtney Romero had eight.

Faith Orecchio had 15 for Triad. Dayna Ober had 12, and Anna McKenzie scored 11.

 

Greenon 56, Urbana 55: Jenn Miller hit the game-winner with one second left. The win gave Greenon the Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division title.

Jenna Robertson led Greenon (14-6) with 15. Trischa Lacy had 30 points, 10 rebounds for Urbana (9-11).

 

Tecumseh 73, Bellefontaine 64: Bianca Quisenberry had 31 points, 10 steals for Tecumseh (12-8). Megan Christman had 20 points, seven rebounds.

Jazmyn Haley led Bellefontaine (12-8) with 22.

 

Kenton Ridge 87, Stebbins 43: Stebbins led 20-19 after the first quarter.

Kenton Ridge made 16 3-pointers. Baylee Bennett had six 3-pointers and scored 21. Paige McCrary led Kenton Ridge (16-4) with 22.

Terra Armstrong scored 15 for Stebbins.

 

West Liberty-Salem 53, Catholic Central 48: Jamie Peterson led West Liberty-Salem with 13. Melany Ward had 12.

Paige Lewis led Catholic Central with 27. Kellie O’Connor scored 11.
