Urban Meyer’s Ohio State contract

Details of Urban Meyer's contract with Ohio State:

Length: Meyer was given a six-year deal, meaning he will be leading the Buckeyes until January 31, 2018.

Compensation: Though his base pay is set at $700,000, Meyer will receive at least $4 million annually for the first two years. The $3.3 million difference comes from media, promotion and public relations, endorsements, retirement contribution and other appearances.

Retention bonuses: Meyer will receiver retention payments of $450,000, $750,000 and $1.2 million if he is still the head coach on Jan. 31, 2014, Jan. 31, 2016, and Jan. 31, 2018.

Other bonuses: Each year Meyer will have the opportunity to earn an additional $700,000. Along with academic and graduation rate bonuses, he can earn $50,000 for winning the Leaders division, $100,000 for winning the Big Ten title, $150,000 for a BCS bowl appearance and $250,000 for reaching the BCS championship game.

Perks: Meyer receives a golf membership, $1,200 per month for automobile expenses, and access to a private aircraft for University business as well as up to 35 hours of personal use.
