Kyle McLaughlin is a Fairmont High School senior. Here are his brief thoughts on National Signing Day:

Now I have played football since the fourth grade. As anyone would guess, I wanted my name to be recited and play college football, but things didn’t pan out the way I wanted.

My school Fairmont doesn’t have the big prospects from around the area so I haven’t really had any experiences from the media coming to the school and setting up a press conference, but we have had students who do get recruited to Division III colleges.

Honestly, I don’t think these top prospects should have a big press conference. I think this is the type of thing that turns students who already have big egos into even bigger ones. But I also think this could also be very humbling to the students who are nice guys who deserve to be recognized and I also think the smaller school should be at least mentioned too.
