About Wright State: The Raiders have lost four in a row to Detroit. It’s the only Horizon League team remaining that coach Billy Donlon hasn’t beat in his three seasons. … Darling scored 22 against Valparaiso on Saturday, becoming the first Raider to score 20-plus points in three games this season. Arceneaux and Jerran Young have each done it twice. … The Raiders lost Saturday for the first time when leading with five minutes left. They fell to 4-4 in road games. They’re 8-0 at home and 1-1 at neutral sites.
About Detroit: The Titans tied for third in the Horizon League last season at 11-7 and then won the Horizon League tournament, beating Valparaiso 70-50 in the final. They were a No. 15 seed in the NCAA tournament and lost 65-50 to Kansas in the first round. … Coach Ray McCallum is in his fifth season. His son Ray was the Horizon League tournament MVP last season. … The Titans are the only team in the conference with three players ranking among the top 10 in scoring. McCallum leads the league. Calliste is sixth, and Minnerath is ninth. … Detroit and Wright State both lost to Bowling Green early this season. They both beat Milwaukee and Green Bay, and Detroit lost to Cleveland State, while Wright State beat Cleveland State.
Coach Billy Donlon on Detroit: “They’re really good. They’ve got five starters who average (almost) double-figure points. That’s hard to find at the Division I level. They’re led by McCallum. He makes everyone better. He can really shoot the ball. Nick Minnerath is phenomenal. Doug Anderson has really improved his game. He can make a mid-range shot and can drive the ball. Juwan Howard Jr. can shoot the 3, and he’s a big body in the post.”
