The Wittenberg men’s basketball team won its fourth game in a row, holding Wabash to 16 points in the second half and winning 50-45 on Wednesday.

The victory ended a four-game losing streak in Crawfordsville for the Tigers, who hadn’t won at Wabash since Jan. 30, 2008.

The Tigers trailed 29-24 at halftime, but they opened the second half on a 15-2 run. Wabash scored two minutes into the second half and didn’t score again for nine minutes. The Little Giants missed 10 shots and two free throws during that stretch.

Wabash got no closer than four points in the final minutes. It ended up shooting 15 percent from the field in the second half (4-of-26).

The Tigers improved to 12-4 and 5-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. They remain two games back of Wooster, which beat Allegheny 92-68 on Wednesday, and are now one game back of Ohio Wesleyan, which suffered its first NCAC loss, 78-65 to Hiram, on Wednesday.

Wabash fell to 4-11 and 2-4 in the NCAC with its sixth loss in the last seven games.

Scott Masin recorded his fifth double-double in the last six games with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Zack Leahy and Cam Walton each scored eight points.

Women’s game: The Tigers (7-8, 3-3 NCAC) lost 64-52 at home to Kenyon. They trailed by as many as 15 points in the second half and got as close as three with 4:33 to play before Kenyon went on an 8-2 run to put it away.

Amber Rice led Wittenberg with 13 points, and Katelyn Haralamos had 12.
