About Dayton: The Flyers are trying to avoid their first 0-6 road start in the A-10 since losing their first seven in 2005-06. … They notched a 76-43 home win against UMass last season, ending the game on a 36-9 run. … In games decided by five points or fewer, they’re 1-7 this season after going 4-5 last year. … Dillard is shooting 88.4 percent from the foul line, second in the league, and has made 57 of his last 62 (91.9 percent). … Sub Matt Derenbecker is shooting 44 percent on 3’s, second in the A-10. … UD is first in the league in 3-point shooting (38.3 percent) and second in field-goal percentage (46.0).

About UMass: The Minutemen are coming off a 99-96 loss at St. Bonaventure on Wednesday, their third straight defeat. … Williams, a first-team preseason all-conference pick, had 26 points and 12 assists. He’s first in the league and sixth nationally in assists (7.5). … Junior guard Jesse Morgan, the team’s second-leading scorer with a 13.4 average, suffered a torn ACL on Jan. 10 and is out for the year. … Expect a shootout. The Minutemen scored 63 second-half points against the Bonnies.

FYI: UD sub Khari Price, the team’s top perimeter defender and a sure ball-handler, is making progress from a thigh bruise but is expected to miss his sixth straight game.

“It’s been tough sitting through these games, the heart-breaking losses, the terrific wins,” he said. “It’s been frustrating. It’s been up and down. It’s been topsy-turvy. It’s been all kinds of emotions mixed in one.

“But I’m starting to ride the (stationary) bike a little bit, doing some cardio and strengthening the muscle. And, hopefully, I’ll be back soon.”
