Speak Up for June 29-Why should our generation care about your Social Security

Everyone knows that something is eating animals in Donnels Creek south of North Hampton. Nobody wants to say anything, but goats are disappearing. It sounds funny to call it Donny and laugh, but the North Hampton beach should be closed.

I don’t know why people are surprised by Barack Obama’s lack of leadership on Iran. That is the way he has always been; look at his voting record when he was a senator.

Re Generation Z: Just like you don’t appreciate the youth in the community lumping all the elderly into one “early-bird-special/old fogey” category, we do not appreciate being lumped into a category of irresponsible young people. Some of us actually care about your Social Security, believe it or not, and are highly offended by your narrow-minded and inconsiderate remarks.

Why should our generation care about your Social Security payments? We’ll never even see a dime of our own.

Re “The North/South divide,” June 21: Thank you for pointing out that the most crime in the city is where the new Springfield Regional Medical Center is being built. Just proves a point why so many Springfield people were against the decision to build in this area, or, for that matter, to even merge our hospitals. I’ll think twice about my safety before I use the new hospital.

Tom Stafford has once again charmed us and lifted our heavy hearts with his “Good times with Dad” adventure. He attracts good people because he is good. Tom makes the News-Sun shine.

You Obama haters who have had your mind set since “day one” need to give it a rest. Your guy not only took us to the brink of economic ruin, he sacrificed the high ground that America stands for with his policies, both home and abroad.

I was a member of the first class to graduate outside at North High School on June 7, 1972. There was no stadium yet, no seating. We graduated on the football practice field. Our class had just under 500 members. Why was North High School able to handle a larger graduating class under primitive circumstances in Panther Valley while “Springfield High School” made such a mess of things in the same location with a fully equipped stadium?
