Snow arriving in northern areas this evening

Tuesday morning is starting out free of any snow, although scattered snow showers are expected later this evening.

Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek said scattered snow showers will leave a dusting in some areas mainly north of Interstate 70.

“A dusting or coating is all we expect from this, and only in select spots as opposed to a widespread event like we saw yesterday evening,” he said.

Highs today will reach about 32. Lows late tonight will be around 19 degrees, with snow leaving the area several hours before the Wednesday morning commute.

Sun will return Wednesday, but the highs will reach only into the upper 20s.

Thursday looks to bring a warm spell with a high of 40, but light rain or snow showers could return by Thursday night as a very weak cold front moves through the area.

The up-and-down temperature string continues Friday and Saturday, with highs in the mid 30s for the former and back at 40 again for the latter.

Sunday, temperatures could be close to 50 but rain most likely is in the forecast as well.
