Shooting at Los Angeles airport delays local flights

There were no closures of local airports during the lockdown of Los Angeles International Airport on Friday, but some flight schedules were affected.

The FAA announced shortly after the fatal shooting of a TSA officer a ground stop for any flights scheduled to depart for the Los Angeles airport. Flights already in the air were accepted for landing.

Friday evening there were two arriving flights delayed and one cancelled at Dayton International Airport. There was only one departure delay reported on the airport’s website.

Airport spokeswoman Linda Hughes said all operations were running smoothly Friday afternoon.

Port Columbus International Airport also reported just one cancellation and a two delays.

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport listed about a dozen delayed flights Friday evening and a number of cancelled flights to New York and New Jersey.
