Garage catches fire in Springfield

The City of Springfield Fire and Rescue Division responded to a garage fire behind the residence at 1127 Maiden Lane shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011. Battalion Chief Matt Smith said that causes of the start of the fire were unknown but that there was reportedly no electricity running to the structure, nor was anything stored inside. Witnesses reported that three male juveniles were seen running from the area just before the fire.
