AKRON, Ohio — There won't be a trial soon for an Ohio man suspected in the shooting deaths of three men lured to a rural area by bogus job listings on Craigslist.

Fifty-two-year-old Richard Beasley appeared in court Wednesday in Akron and waived his right to a speedy trial, a common move that allows more legal preparation time.

The self-styled chaplain from Akron has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and attempted murder in the slayings of three men and the wounding of a fourth. He could face the death penalty if convicted.

According to the Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/xfsP5F), Beasley shielded his face from photographers, which he has done before in court. He says he wants to avoid contaminating the jury pool.

A 17-year-old co-defendant has pleaded not guilty to juvenile counts.
