COLUMBUS, Ohio — The state is making it easier for people in Ohio who have lost driving privileges to pay their reinstatement fees to regain those privileges.
The Bureau of Motor Vehicles says those fees have been accepted only in person at one of the seven regional centers throughout the state. Starting in January, 179 BMV deputy registrar sites will accept the payments for a $10 service fee. They'll also accept any documentation needed for reinstatement.
The bureau says that doesn't mean reinstatement would happen immediately. It might require more time to be processed. Customers also still would need to meet other reinstatement requirements, such as appearing in court or having proof of insurance, before their driving privileges are restored.
