CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — The family of an Ohio woman who died after she was found bleeding and collapsed in her driveway with severe dog bites says their pet Rottweiler tried to rescue her.
Family members say 63-year-old Carolyn Baker of Cleveland Heights probably died of a heart attack or her third stroke and the dog tried to pull her to safety by the shoulder. The coroner hasn't ruled on the death.
Baker's husband found her collapsed outside the family's home before dawn Sunday. She apparently had gone to bring the dog into the house.
The dog, Zeus, was taken to a kennel pending the results of the autopsy. The family wants the dog back and says the pet has been wrongly portrayed as aggressive and dangerous.
