FINDLAY, Ohio — A union official says talks have stalled between a tire company and locked-out workers in northwestern Ohio.

Hundreds of workers at the Cooper Tire plant in Findlay have been locked out since late November. Union members had voted down a tentative three-year contract.

Local union President Rod Nelson tells The Courier newspaper (http://bit.ly/wndV0E ) several days of informal discussions with the company this week failed to lead to an agreement. No further talks are scheduled this week.

Nelson says the company's latest offer is "a lot less" than what it gave Cooper Tire workers in Texarkana, Ark., who recently approved a four-year contract that includes pay increases. He didn't share details of the Ohio proposal.

The newspaper says Cooper Tire officials did not respond to requests for comment.
