Lakehurst, N.J. —

Ohio Task Force One will deploy today to Seaside Heights New Jersey for their first mission since Superstorm Sandy devastated the state.

The team learned Thursday evening that they would be loading buses at 6 a.m. today to make the drive to the shore. Seaside Heights is the town where MTV’s hit show “Jersey Shore” was filmed.

Reports indicate there is no infrastructure remaining there and teams are being airlifted in from New York and other parts of New Jersey.

Cox Media Group Ohio reporters Jessica Heffner and Drew Simon will be traveling with the convoy. Updates on their mission will be posted on daytondailynews.com. Or get updates on Twitter by following @JessicaHeffnerWHIO, @DrewSimonBNT and using the hashtag #OHTF1.
