SOUTHWEST OHIO —
Light snow will continue most of the night with some lulls, totalling anywhere from 1 to 2 inches of accumulation by Tuesday morning, according to Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson.
He said there is a better chance of 2 inches the farther south you are.
The air temperature in Dayton was around 32 degrees at 4 p.m. and was expected to only drop to about 30 degrees by midnight and then into the upper 20s Tuesday morning.
“That is certainly cold enough for some road problems, but not cold enough to keep salt from working very well,” Simpson said. “There also will be very little wind, so blowing and drifting this time will be basically nonexistent.”
Tomorrow will be cloudy temperatures holding steady in the upper 20s. Then a very cold start Wednesday, with air temperatures dropping to about 10 degrees.
“That may be cold enough for some of the wet spots still lingering to freeze up,” Simpson said. “We may deal with some black ice Wednesday morning.”
Wednesday will be sunny but cold as temperatures only recover into the mid 20s. In fact, every day through Saturday will be cold with lows in the lower teens and highs in the 20s, Simpson said.
Thursday will have more clouds and perhaps a few flurries, then sun returns on Friday and stays with us Saturday.
“It may be a cold enough stretch to get some areas ponds to freeze over enough for a little ice skating,” Simpson said.
