Shots fired into Springfield house

SPRINGFIELD —

Several shell casings were found outside a home after shots were fired into it.

At about 2:12 a.m. Tuesday, Springfield police responded to the 1600 block of Woodward Avenue after several reports of shots fired.

The victim, according to a police division incident report, told officers she was in a bedroom when one slug struck the house, followed by several additional rounds of gunfire. She said debris from a wall that was hit by a slug struck her in the face, but she was not injured.

Five people were in the home at the time, but no one saw the suspect, according to the report.
