The mild temperatures expected to remain in the area tonight are likely to blunt the affects of light snow showers forecast to hit at about sunrise, but clouds and a northerly breeze will keep temperatures in the low to mid 30s all day Friday, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson said.

Thursday’s sunshine carried area temperatures to 50 and the area will remain mild ahead of advancing overnight rain, which will arrive first in the far northwest at about midnight and slide southwest through the early morning hours, likely ending throughout the Miami Valley by sunrise.

Expect temperatures in the mid 30s as light snow showers develop at sunrise, so nothing will stick and no problems are expected on area roads, Simpson said.

Friday night will be clear and remain sunny all day Saturday. A northerly wind that will keep things chilly will be triggered by the Northeast blizzard, which will be strengthening as it sits off the New England Coast.

On Sunday, a southwest breeze returns as that northerly wind moves out. That will allow temperatures to climb from the upper 20s early into the mid and upper 40s in the afternoon. Look for clouds and rain around sunset.

Rain on Sunday night will taper Monday morning, when we will still be in the 40s with some late sun possible.

Tuesday looks to be sunnier, but cooler with a high around 40.
