Woman reports ATM robbery

A Springfield woman alleged Friday she was robbed at gunpoint at a drive-up ATM in the Southern Village Shopping Center, the second reported in the city within a week.

She told police she was getting $60 in cash from the ATM about 9 a.m. when a male unknown to her confronted her, pulled back the sleeve of his shirt and displayed the barrel of a handgun.

She handed her the money and he fled.

On Nov. 1, a Springfield woman reported being robbed of cash at an ATM in the 2000 block of East Main Street about 9:10 p.m. A man walked up to the ATM as it dispensed money, grabbed the cash and took off. STAFF REPORT

Man reports rape near bike trail

A 19-year-old man told police he was walking to work along Buck Creek Trail about 7 p.m. Thursday and, the next thing he remembered, woke up about 4 a.m. Friday in a grassy area near the Municipal Stadium.

He suspected he’d been drugged and raped, though he wasn’t sure how he’d been drugged.

Officers spoke with him at Springfield Regional Medical Center, where he went for treatment. STAFF REPORT

Theft

Cash in the amount of $500 was reported stolen from an apartment in the 1700 block of East High Street between 12:30 p.m. Nov. 2 and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 3, according to a Friday Springfield police report. STAFF REPORT
