SPRINGFIELD —

An industrial accident at a Springfield concrete block and brick plant sent a man to an area hospital with a serious head injury.

Springfield Concrete Block & Brick Owner and Manager Robert Anderson told our reporters that employee Matthew Clay stuck his head into a break in a wall where the company pushes products out on a roller belt to load onto pallets.

Another employee began pushing out a load of cinder blocks and Clay’s head was crushed between the wall and the blocks.

“I don’t even know what he was trying to do,” Anderson said.

Clay was reportedly there on his day off to pick up his paycheck.

Clay was being transported to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton by medical helicopter.
