Man arrested after disturbance at Red Lobster

SPRINGFIELD —

Police arrested a man who was allegedly drunk and caused a disturbance at a Red Lobster restaurant Tuesday.

Police said officers located 58-year-old Hugh Hupman Jr. on an embankment near U.S. 68 and Ohio 41 shortly after he fled the restaurant, at 1898 W. First St.

Hupman allegedly began throwing objects at the restaurant’s manager after the manager accused him of being drunk, according to Springfield police Lt. Jeff Meyer.

Hupman was arrested on an active warrant out of Clark County Sheriff’s Office for having an open container. He may face additional charges regarding the incident at the restaurant.
