Man arrested following pursuit in Clark County

Staff Report

CLARK COUNTY, Ohio —

Deputies in Clark County said a 27-year-old man is being held in the Clark County Jail after they said the man led them on a chase after an attempted traffic stop.

The Clark County sheriff’s office said that a deputy was traveling in the area of South Limestone Street and Selma Road when a vehicle made a U-turn in front of her. The deputy said she attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver would not stop.

The deputy said she determined that the man may have been intoxicated. The sheriff's office said the suspect, Michael A. Hill, took off at a high rate of speed on Springfield-Jamestown Road and was eventually stopped in the 4800 block, where he was arrested.

Hill will face charges of OVI, Driving Under Suspension, and several other suspected traffic offenses, deputies said.

He was taken to the Clark County Jail, where deputies said he refused to take a breathalyzer test.

The sheriff's office said Hill’s arraignment is scheduled Thursday morning in Clark County Municipal Court.
