Sunny weather forecast for holiday

Steady rain and varying temperatures will lead into Thanksgiving Day.

The week is going to start out wet and chilly, but the weather is going to clear out for Thanksgiving, said WHIO-TV meteorologist Erica Collura.

“Thanksgiving is going to be perfect,” Collura said. “We’re going to see sunny skies and temperatures in the low 50s.

“Tuesday, though, is going to be miserable.”

Sunday’s cold rain, which ranged from a trace in the north to more than a half inch in the southern Miami Valley, will tail off slightly Monday, Collura said. The region can look for a few passing showers today, mostly before mid afternoon.

But warmer southerly winds — which could raise high temperatures close to 60 on Tuesday — also will bring steady rains, she said, with up to an inch of precipitation.

Wednesday will cool off as a cold front moves in after the rain, Collura said, taking highs back down into the upper 40s.

Temperatures will warm up to highs of between 52 and 54 on the holiday, and then fall back into the 40s for the weekend, she said.
