ROCKFORD, Mercer County —

Authorities continue to look for a man suspected of the slaying of a 26-year-old woman at a mobile park in Mercer County.

At a press conference Friday morning, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said the suspect, Daniel Charles Martin, 40, has not been located. He should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who knows where he is should call local authorites, he said.

A warrant has been issued for Martin’s arrest.

Investigators said Martin may have been driving a red 1998 Ford Explorer bearing license tag EHU5541. According to authorities, the vehicle was found in Fort Wayne, Ind., early Friday morning.

According to authorities, Martin and the victim, identified as Melinda S. Shinn, were arguing Wednesday evening. It’s believed Shinn was shot in the early morning hours of Thursday.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Martin to call (419) 586-7724 or your local law enforcement agency.
