A woman woke up early Thursday to find a gunman in her home in what police are investigating as a home invasion.

The woman said she awoke at about 4:30 a.m. to relieve herself and noticed that the house, in the 1600 block of Lexington Avenue, was cold, according to a Springfield police incident report.

She said she proceeded to the front of the home and saw the gunman dressed in dark clothing and wearing gloves. She guessed that he looked to be about 30, police said.

She told police she ordered the man to get out, at which time he pointed the black pistol at her but said nothing. He then left the residence and headed east on foot.

The woman told police she remembered locking the door when she went to bed. She also said she didn’t believe that anything had been stolen, police said.
