Miami county schools report card

Ratings, performance index (PI) and poverty levels

SCHOOLS’ INDIVIDUAL REPORT CARD GRADES
These are the ratings, performance index (PI) scores and poverty levels noted by the Ohio Department of Education for the more than 400 schools in our nine-county Miami Valley region, per the preliminary data from the 2011-12 Ohio Report Cards. The performance index score reflects the achievement of every student enrolled for the academic year for schools serving third through eighth grade or 10th through 12th grade. The report card rating is based on the performance index, proficiency on state tests and whether schools exceeded predetermined academic growth measures. The six-point rating system includes: “Excellent with Distinction” (EWD), “Excellent” (EX), “Effective” (EF), “Continuous Improvement” (CI), “Academic Watch” (AW) and “Academic Emergency” (AE).
