Showers likely for Wednesday A.M. commute

Thinning clouds tonight should give way to a highly likely chance of showers during the Wednesday morning commute, and indications are that whatever falls will remain liquid and not freeze, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson said Tuesday night.

Rain is due to hit the area a bit later on Thursday after a cloudy Wednesday with highs in the low 40s.

Temperatures overnight on Thursday will hold steady, Simpson said, with more rain at times. That rain will taper about midday Friday, with sun late in the day and a southwest breeze that will move the region into the mid 50s.

Rain for Saturday looks like it will hold off until late afternoon or evening. Some areas in the region will reach the 60s with most ending up in the upper 50s. The record of 64 seems safe, though.

Sunday may be a washout and not as warm with temperatures expected to remain near 50 all day. Rain is in the forecast Sunday and will continue into Monday as colder air returns Tuesday .
