URBANA —
A police pursuit Wednesday on State Route 68 ended in the arrest of a female wanted for questioning in an alleged theft case.
The woman, whose name and age were not immediately released, was wanted regarding an investigation stemming from the use of an elderly person’s credit car at a Walmart in Urbana.
Authorities said the woman returned to the store, was recognized by police and fled when they tried to take her into custody.
Stop sticks were used by law officers in a failed effort to deflate the tires on the woman’s vehicle. She eventually gave up, pulled off the roadway and was taken into custody.
