Warrant requested for domestic suspect

A warrant for the arrest of a 19-year-old Springfield man was requested by police on suspicion of domestic violence.

According to a police report, the man punched a 20-year-old woman in the mouth and shoved her into the wall causing injury to her eye about 11:45 a.m. Friday at his home in the 2100 block of Superior Avenue. STAFF REPORT

Thefts

• Pneumatic and power tools valued at $1,000 were reported stolen from a home in the 700 block of Linden Avenue between 6 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday.

• An electronic vehicle performance component valued at $600 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 4200 block of South York Street between 6 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 28, according to a Thursday report. STAFF REPORT

Woman charged with assault on deputy

A woman charged with assaulting a police officer entered a plea of not guilty in court Friday.

Verna L. Napier, 38, is charged with assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. She pleaded not guilty to both charges, and her bond was set at $6,000.

The incident reportedly happened at her home, 3834 Dayton Road, Lot D22, about 1:30 a.m. Friday. Officials were called to the home on a report that Napier was threatening to harm her mother.

As deputies spoke with her, she attempted to barricade herself in her bedroom. After a confrontation between her and deputies, one deputy was allegedly hit several times. He used the stun gun to subdue Napier.

Napier was taken to Clark County Jail. STAFF REPORT

Man accused of domestic violence

Jeremy R. Barclay, 23, of 2369 Old Arthur Road, was placed in the Clark County Jail on Thursday afternoon on suspicion of domestic violence and assault.

An 18-year-old Springfield Twp. woman he knows alleged Barclay slammed her head into a ladder and wall, and shoved her into a television and a trash can about noon, according to a Clark County sheriff’s report. STAFF REPORT

Teen charged with domestic violence

Paul A. Miller Jr., 19, of 5684 Ridgewood Road West, was jailed on domestic violence, assault and resisting arrest charges Thursday afternoon.

A sheriff’s report accuses Miller of getting in the face of a 45-year-old man he knows and going after the man with a kitchen knife about 2:30 p.m.

The resisting arrest charge resulted from an alleged struggle the teen had with deputies, according to deputies. STAFF REPORT
