Passing showers are possible across the northern Miami Valley this evening coinciding with a cold front that will drop temperatures into the upper 20s by early morning Friday.

Today’s high was in the upper 40s, according to Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson.

“Clouds will increase by sunrise and we should stay fairly cloudy through the day tomorrow,” he said.

Friday afternoon scattered snow showers will move in. “Some spots will get missed, but others will see some light accumulation on the grass and tops of cars. No more than a half-inch anywhere,” Simpson said.

Afternoon highs in the mid 30s will keep roads wet until sunset. As snow showers taper off in the evening temperatures will fall below freezing and that could lead to some wet spots getting a bit ice if roads are untreated.

“We should stay dry Friday night into Saturday, then there is the chance for a few more light snow showers Saturday that should only bring a coating to some spots,” Simpson said.

Saturday will be colder with morning temperatures in the upper teens to around 20 degrees and afternoon highs only in the mid to upper 20s. Sunday will also be cold, starting in the mid-teens and afternoon highs near 30 degrees.
