Dale Earnhardt Jr. to retire from NASCAR following 2017

Woman arrested for kidnapping grandson 13 years ago

A 13-year old boy has been reunited with his father after being kidnapped when he was just a baby.

The boy was found living with his grandmother in Chillicothe, Missouri, more than a thousand miles away from where he was born in Florida. (Via WDAF)

Sixty-year-old Sandy Hatte was arrested and charged with child abduction. She is accused of kidnapping her grandson 13 years ago.

“Dad was working — come home from work and she was gone with the baby and he was unable to find them ever since.” (Via WSJV)

Relatives of the boy had hired a private investigator to track the grandma but she was able to elude them for 13 years.

Authorities were finally tipped off when they grew suspicious during his enrollment in school.

"They had some concerns about an individual who had enrolled a child into school and has some concerns if they were the actual parent or custodian. Being a parent myself, it is a parent's worst nightmare." (Via WPMT)

The nightmare is over though and the boy is back in Florida with his father. It was apparently a good reunion for the two and the boy is adjusting well.
