Texas teen sparks outrage over dead animal Facebook photos

A teenager from Texas is sparking outrage all over social media over Facebook pictures she's posted of herself, posing with dead animals.

Kendall Jones, 19, says she put them up, after hunting and killing them in Africa. Now, nearly 40,000 people have signed a petition, asking Facebook to take them down.

The petition reads: "For the sake of all animals, especially the animals in the African region … where hunters are going for gun just to kill an animal! Some people have been reporting the pages lately but it seems Facebook is not concerned about what Kendall Jones is promoting in her page."

The photos show Jones, of Cleburne, smiling with dead or tranquilized animals that she reportedly hunted, including a lion, rhino, antelope, leopard, elephant, zebra and hippopotamus.

“I’m a hunter and proud of that. That being said I eat what I shoot and only hunt overpopulated animals that other wise would starve or get diseased,” commented one man on Facebook.

According to Jones, some of the animals she poses with have not been shot dead, but instead tranquilized and studied for educational purposes. But users aren't buying it.

“Africa doesn’t need scum like you,” one user wrote. “Go back to where you came from.”
