Interview: George Zimmerman says he's homeless and suffers from PTSD

In an interview to air Sunday on the Spanish-language television station Univision, George Zimmerman claims he is homeless and suffers from post traumatic stress disorder, according to this report posted on The Daily Mail.

In 2012, Zimmerman, a Sanford, Fla. neighborhood watch volunteer, fatally shot Trayvon Martin, an unarmed teenager who was visiting his father in the gated community. Zimmerman was acquitted of murder charges in a highly controversial case that polarized the nation.

Since the verdict, Zimmerman has had multiple brushes with the law. In the Univision interview, Zimmerman says he is unable to lead a normal life, and has to don a bulletproof vest whenever he goes out. He claims to have developed post traumatic stress disorder from the constant public scrutiny. Zimmerman admits that while his family helps him,  he is currently homeless.

Despite the obstacles he's faced since the trial, Zimmerman holds fast to his belief that he did the right thing in shooting Martin.  In the interview, he says he is convinced that Martin would have killed him if he hadn't taken drastic action.

The entire interview will air on the "Aquí y Ahora" show Sunday at 7 p.m.
