Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday, February 08, 2012.

A strong ridge of high pressure will dig southward across the Central U.S. Wednesday, while both coasts will be battling with low pressure systems.

Out West, the low pressure system that brought wet and cool weather to California Tuesday will continue to move south into the Baja California region Wednesday morning. As a result, expect showers mainly in the early morning hours across the Southern California. Skies should start to clear by midmorning. In contrast, another Pacific storm will be approaching the Pacific Northwest, bringing another round of rain and mountain snow.

Moving to the East, a low pressure system over the Tennessee Valley with its cold front through the Deep South will continue to move east and out to the sea by Wednesday night, producing snow and rain showers from the Ohio and Tennessee valleys to the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England. Cooler weather is also expected across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

Elsewhere, scattered snow showers are expected over parts of the Rockies. Moreover, showers and thunderstorms will persist over southern Texas and southern Florida. Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Tuesday have ranged from a morning low of -16 degrees at Crane Lake, Minn. to a high of 86 degrees at Key West, Fla.
