Two men were arrested Monday in connection with a break-in at a Springfield home while a woman and her child were asleep.

The incident happened Monday afternoon on the 1200 block of Circle drive. According to a Springfield police report, the mother said she heard the doorbell ring several times. When she heard the door being forced open, she grabbed her child and ran outside to call police.

The woman’s boyfriend arrived on scene shortly after the door was kicked in. He immediately began to chase the two men as they were fleeing the residence.

One of them, identified as 19-year-old Taevian Alexander Harris, was found hiding behind a house on Terrace Drive. He was arrested and booked into the Clark County Jail on an aggravated burglary charge.

Police were told Harris began shooting at the boyfriend, and his father who was also on scene. Police checked the area but were unable to find a handgun at the time of the arrest.

The second suspect, identified as 19-year-old Ryan Michael Fisher, was found on the 200 block of Ridge Road. He remains in the Clark County Jail on a pending a complicity charge.
