The University of Dayton graduate law student who was found dead in his apartment on Brown Street has been identified as 27-year-old Matthew Corning, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office on Sunday.

The cause of death is pending.

Corning, of Wauconda, Ill., was found dead inside University Place Apartments after medics and Dayton and University of Dayton police responded to reports of a body around 1:50 p.m. on Saturday.

No foul play is suspected in Corning’s death, said Cilla Shindell, the University of Dayton media relations director.

The UD community will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Monday in the Mathias H. Heck Courtroom on the first floor of the law school for prayer and support.
