Two killed in fiery Springfield crash identified

UPDATE @ 2:56 p.m. (Feb. 20):

The identities of two people killed in a fiery car crash Saturday night in Springfield have been released by police.

The driver, Charles L. Foster II, 26, of Springfield, and front seat passenger Kiarrah N. Young, 24, of Springfield, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to a Springfield Police report.

Jeffrey Brown, 28, was a back seat passenger in the car and was transported to Miami Valley Regional Hospital. He was listed in good condition at the Dayton hospital on Monday afternoon.

UPDATE @ 9:45 p.m.

A fiery crash claimed two lives and sent a third person to a local hospital tonight.

Springfield police Sgt. Brett Bauer said the gray car was speeding down West Pleasant Street when it hit a utility pole and wall. Two people inside the car died, he said. They were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person was taken to a local hospital.

The names, genders and hometowns of the deceased were not available, and neither was the identity and condition of the injured person.

Police are investigating a fiery double-fatal crash tonight in Springfield.

The crash was reported sometime before 7 p.m. in the 1800 block of West Pleasant Street near Dayton Avenue.

Springfield police confirm two people are dead in the single-vehicle crash. Traffic investigators are on scene.
