Report: Man pretends to be Justin Bieber in texts to girl

A man is being investigated for pretending to be pop singer Justin Bieber while preying on an area teen cancer patient.

The 17-year-old Clark County girl had Leukemia, but it is gone, and she has a mental disability, according to WBNS 10TV in Columbus.

Her mother says her crush on Bieber made her a target. The teen was given the phone number of the man from someone she believed to be another fan of Bieber, who said it was the singer’s number.

Her mother intervened and asked the teen to stop texting him, and she filed a report with authorities.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office traced the number to a 40-year-old man in Texas who is connected to a 1995 incident in which he was accused of being indecent with a 13-year-old.

Texas authorities are now investigating the man, according to the WBNS report.

After hearing the teen’s story, the arena was able to get the real singer and the teenager to meet.
